2. Select whether the video input to your VBrick appliance uses the Composite port or
S-Video port.
3. Select whether your video aspect ratio is Normal 4:3 or Widescreen 16:9.
4. Open a new browser window, and go to http://speedtest.net
to determine your optimal
quality settings. Your streaming rate(s) should add up to no more than 75% of your
upload bandwidth capacity. It is recommended that you run this speed test at a few
different times during the day, to compensate for other network traffic during peak usage
hours.
5. Select which video bit rate(s) you would like to broadcast, 864, 576, and/or 300 Kbps.
6. Enable/Disable the live stream. Go to the
Content Manager and click on Live
Webcasting
.
7. Use the
Change Streaming Status button as necessary. Change the status to On Air before
testing and change status back to
Off Air when done.
8. In order to view this live testing stream, make sure that at least one of your Video Players
has
Immediate Live enabled. Only a Video Player with Immediate Live enabled will display
the Live stream without having a Scheduled Event added to its Video Playlist.
Step 4. Set Up Video Playlists
1. By default, your channel will have two Primary Playlists, one for Windows Media
content, and the other for Flash content. These Primary Playlists will automatically
publish any new stored content added to your asset library.
2. Create a New Video Playlist, with a Title and Description, and with Live Streaming
enabled.
3. Choose
Windows Media or Flash as the content type for this Playlist. Each playlist can
use only one of the two available content types.
4. You may select whether you would like any or all of these videos to be Pay-Per-View or
subscription-based, or whether you would like to force viewer registration, while
maintaining public access to the content.
5. Set Playlist Access as either Public or for Registered users only, or through a global
password. If you choose to provide access only to existing user groups, select which
groups can access this playlist. You can set up groups of users with the Access Manager
under the
Account Manager menu. You can add users from the Edit Users tab, including
Bulk Import using the specified format. If you use the Global Password method, you will
need to provide these login credentials to all viewers to whom you would like to provide
access to this playlist.
6. In the
Playlist Content tab, move selected content from the Asset Library to this playlist
and select the Featured Video and/or which video to use as a pre-roll clip. If you selected
Assign Pay Rate for Videos, edit the payment amount for each video.
Step 5. Set Up Video Players
1. By default, your channel will have two Primary Video Players, one for your Windows
Media content, and the other for Flash Content. These Primary Video Players are
associated with the respective Primary Playlists.
2. Add a New Video Player with a Title and Description and select the content type, either
Flash or Windows Media. For Windows Media, select either the Windows Media player
or the JW player (which will play Silverlight and Flash content as well as Windows Media
video). For Flash players, select the skin style that you would like to use.
